Memo on the Affiliation of the Lobo Unit with the 6th Military District, December 1942

The Lobo Unit, USAFFE Guerrilla was originally considered by the United States army as part of the Pandita Area, DI Combat, Free Luzon Area, 6th Military District guerrilla outfit under the command of one Danny Flores. The mother organization was not favorably considered for recognition by the United States Army. In this page is a transcription1 of a memorandum issued to all company commanders by one Major Jack Mar on the organization of the unit under one Major Tomas Ilagan.

TO: ALL COMPANY COMMANDERS
USAFFE GUERRILLA LOBO UNIT
1. It is hereby announced that TOMAS A. ILAGAN LT. PA RES. arrived in our Hq with the aim of organizing a unit in this jurisdiction with orders from Mindoro.
2. Upon our verbal conference, the said Lt. was then chosen to be the Bn. Commander with the rank of Major and his Executive Major Jack Mar and Captain Soliman were then assigned to the “A” Co. and the Bn. S-3 was Lieutenant Benjamin A. Ilagan, while Lt. Gonzar was assigned to the Intelligence Operative Section of our unit.
3. Thus, upon the connection of Major Tomas A. Ilagan, our unit was then named as the USAFFE GUERRILLA LOBO UNIT MINDE AREA (Mindoro Detachment). He had been from the SIXTH MILITARY DISTRICT.
4. All officers and men that [were] present in the said conference must acknowledge all orders and command from our new Battalion Commander.
