Letter Acknowledging Cornejo's Request for Reconsideration, April 1947
The President Quezon’s Own Guerrillas (PQOG) was a guerrilla organization that operated in Luzon, including Batangas, during the Japanese occupation. The organization had many units in Batangas Province, including the Municipality of Malvar. In this municipality, the unit was formed and commanded by one Wenceslao Cornejo. In this document1, Thomas Brown of the Adjutant General’s Office of the Philippines-Ryukyus Command wrote to Cornejo to acknowledge receipt of the latter’s request for reconsidation.

Dear Mr. Cornejo:
This will acknowledge receipt of your letter, with enclosed affidavit, dated 31 March 1947, in which you request reconsideration of the unfavorable decision rendered by this headquarters on 8 February 1947 with regard to the recognition of the “Malvar Guerrrilla Forces, PQOG.”
A complete study was made of all elements of the President Quezon’s Own Guerrillas (PQOG). Recognition was extended only to personnel of the PQOG General Headquarters and to the 2nd Infantry Regiment, PQOG, a composite unit from the overall command. It is felt that this recognition constitutes just and adequate acknowledgement of military service performed by all PQOG units.
This decision does not preclude submission of claims for casualty recognition by those individuals who are qualified and feel justified in entering such claims. Upon request by interested individuals, appropriate forms will be forwarded.
