Letter to Masilungan Directing the Submission of Roster, November 1947
The San Jose Batangas Guerrillas was another unit in the province of Batangas that fought the Japanese under the banner of the large guerrilla organization called Fil-American Irregular Troops, commanded by the former United States Army Col. Hugh Straughn until he was caught and executed by the Japanese. The San Jose unit was commanded by one Amado Masilungan. In this document1 Masilungan was directed by one Captain R. E. Cantrell of the United States Army to submit a required roster in the aftermath of the revocation of recognition for the Folsom’s Fil-American Guerrillas, with which the San Jose Unit had been previously affiliated.

The Commanding General directs that you be informed that the letter of this headquarters dated 18 October 1947 concerning the rescission of previous directives from this headquarters relative to the revocation of the 4th Battalion, 1st Regiment, Folsom’s Fil-American Guerrillas, is rescinded.
It is requested that the screened rosters of the San Jose Batangas Guerrillas which were to have been prepared in accordance with the previous quota and Table of Organization given you be submitted to the Guerrilla Affairs Division on or before 19 November 1947.

1. Present communications directed to the 4th and 5th Battalions, 1st Regiment, Folsom’s Fil-American Guerrillas, self-explanatory.
2. Inasmuch as this division is concerned only with the reinstatement of elements of the 4th and 5th Bns as independent guerrilla units, it is not deemed necessary to inform the remaining units of the 1st Regiment, Folsom’s Fil-American Guerrillas of this present action until a final decision has been made on the entire 1st Regiment, Folsom’s Fil-American Guerrillas. self-explanatory.
