Guerra's Letter Requesting for Approval of Guerrilla Roster, January 1946
The Ibaan Regiment was one of many units of the Fil-American Irregular Troops (FAIT), a large guerrilla group founded by the former US Army officer Hugh Straughn, that was operating in Batangas during the Japanese Occupation. It was commanded by one Sixto Guerra. In this January 1946 document document1 Guerra wrote to the Commanding General of the United States Armed Forces in the Western Pacific, through channels, requesting for the approval of a submitted guerrilla roster. Also included are certifications attached as enclosures to the letter of request.

1. Request approval of the attached roster of the IBAAN REGIMENT, Fil-American Batangas Guerrillas, consisting of seventy-five (75) officers and 1,363 enlisted men.
2. In support of this request, the following are enclosed:
(a) Copies of certificates issued by:
1. The Executive Officer, 188th PG Infantry, 11th Airborne Division;
2. Capt. Maxford Canary of the 127 AEBn;
3. The Agent-in-charge, 11th CIC Detachment;
(b) History of this unit and a summarized report of its activities;
(c) Original documents of organization; and
(d) Organization chart.
3. For more particulars regarding this guerrilla unit, reference may be made to Lt. Iluminado R. Medrano, Executive Officer and Adjutant, who is now on duty with the Adjudication Section, PA Branch, RPD, AFWESPAC.

1. This certifies that Captain Quintin B. Hernandez, S-2 of the IBAAN REGIMENT (Batangas Guerrillas) and 1st Lt. Rufino Montalbo, Assistant S-2, had been working with the 11th Counter Intelligence Corps detachment (APO 458) during its stay at Ibaan, Batangas
2. This is also to certify that the IBAAN REGIMENT as a whole cooperated with this organization in apprehending spies, makapilis and pro-Japanese and in taking custody of the same. Their services have greatly facilitated the speedy investigation of suspects and resulted in the early accomplishment of our mission in said city.
