Documents Pertaining to the Manases Reyes Company, Ibaan Regiment
The Ibaan Regiment was one of many units of the Fil-American Irregular Troops, a large guerrilla group founded by the former US Army officer Hugh Straughn, that was operating in Batangas during the Japanese Occupation. It was commanded by one Sixto Guerra. 2. Members of the patrol entering Ibaan on 14 March 1945, upon being questioned concerning the incident, recall having contacted your unit and the attachment of your unit is now made a matter of record.

1. That on 12 March 1945, 1700 hours, the 158th R.C.T. Inf. undertook the liberation of the Batangas area.
2. On the said date during your operation on the said war theater, this guerrilla unit, following instructions from Capt. Schommers, Guerrilla Coordinator, stationed in Tagaytay City, in company and in coordination with [the] LUANSING UNIT, was actively attached to your command.
3. That, following our contact with that command, this Unit was specifically detailed to perform active beach defense, from Bolbok to Wawa, Batangas, Batangas.
4. That this Unit, in coordination with the LUANSING UNIT, was also detailed to guard the perimeters around Alangilan, Batangas, where your C. P. was then established.
5. On 13 March, 1945, following verbal instructions from that command, this unit occupied the town of Ibaan, Batangas and established Civil Government therein, with specific instructions that should the Japanese attempt to retake it, this Unit must hold it within 3 hours and reinforcments would surely be forthcoming.
6. That on the following day, 14 March 1945, the first reconnaisance patrol of your command, headed by Sgt. A. R FORD, and composed of the following, Pvt. Al Jonny, Pfc. Henry Bent, Pvt. Roy E. Brown, Pfc. James M. Ray, Pvt. Edmond O. Brian, Sgt. Charles B. Daley and others, reached this municipality and contacted our Unit and this Unit served as guide for the same.
7. That this unit was not able to secure CERTIFICATE OF ATTACHMENT from that UNIT, because the command moved and was in operation in Legaspi, Bicol Region.
8. Most earnestly request for issuance of OUR CERTIFICATE OF ATTACHMENT TO THAT UNIT, on 12 March 1945, relying upon your verbal promise that you would help us in view of our services to the cause.
9. Urgently and indispensably hoping for such issuance of ATTACHMENT PAPERS.
