Roster of the Major Phillips Unit

The Major Phillips Unit was a guerrilla unit that was founded and operated in or around western Batangas town of Calatagan. It was commanded by one Emilio Macabuag and took its name from a United States Army intelligence officer from whom the guerrilla outfit took directions until the latter was caught and killed by the Japanese.

In this page1 are provided individual images the rosters of the enlisted men and officers of the Major Phillips Unit. Each image is duly paginated for the benefit of students and researchers who may need the pages for citation purposes.

In reviewing the rosters, the reader is advised that a) the Major Phillips Unit failed to obtain official recognition from the United States Army; and b) some of the men in the rosters were at one time or the other attached to other guerrilla units operating in western Batangas such as Mariano H. Cabarrubia’s Rainbow Regiment in Balayan and Jacobo Zobels’ unit in the town of Calatagan.
