Sketch-Map of the Taal Volcano Region, c. 1911

Below is a sketched map of the Taal Land and Volcano along with the surrounding areas, extracted from the 1911 publication “The Eruption of Taal Volcano: January 31, 1911¹,” written by the Jesuit scientist Reverend Miguel Saderra Maso. The publication provided some details of Taal Volcano’s historic eruptions prior to 1911 as well details of the violent eruption of the volcano that same year.

The map was entitled “Sketch-Map of the Taal Volcano Region” and shows towns and barrios surrounding the lake at the time as well places either obliterated or partially damaged. Readers will please refer to the following articles for more information on the 1911 eruption of the volcano.
