Filipino Guerrillas in Action in Batangas, 1945
Below, a picture of Filipino guerrillas in action against the Japanese in Batangas during World War II. It has been downloaded from the United States National Archives, where it was captioned “Filipino guerrillas of the 1st Cavalry Division make active use in combat of horse, machine gun and rifles captured from the Japanese. Here, they are waging warfare against the Japanese east (probably meant south) of Manila in Batangas Province, Luzon, P.I (for Philippine Islands).
The picture was taken on 28 March 1945, just about the time when operations to liberate Batangas from Japanese occupation started. It has been processed using graphic editing software to improve quality and colorized courtesy of Algorithmia.
