The lakeside town of Talisay used to be part of Taal until it was formally established as a separate municipality in 1869. In the present day, Talisay is a 3rd income class town with a total land area of 2,820, 6th smallest in the entire province. Its population as per the 2020 Philippine Census was pegged at 46,238.
The town has 21 barangays and is part of Batangas’ 3rd legislative district. It can be reached by road from Manila via the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road through Tanauan. Alternatively, the town can also be reached from Tagaytay City.
