The town of Mabini is on the Calumpang Peninsula which divides Batangas Bay from Balayan Bay. It used to be part of the town of Bauan. In the present day, Mabini is a 1st income class municipality with a total land area of 4,447 hectares distributed among 34 barangays, and a 2020 population of 50,858.
Mabini is part of the 2nd legislative district of the Province of Batangas and is known for its excellent dive sites and resorts. The town can be reached by road from Manila via the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road through Batangas City, San Pascual and Bauan.
