The western Batangas town of Calaca, renowned for its Calacatchara Festival, is a 1st income class municipality which has become home to several large industrial plants. It has a total land area of 11,458 hectares and a 2020 population of 87,361. Although becoming industrial, agriculture remains, according to the DILG, among the town’s major sources of income.
Calaca is part of the Province of Batangas’ 1st legislative district and can be reached from Manila via the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road via Lipa, through Cuenca, Alitagtag, Santa Teresita, Taal and Lemery; or via Tagaytay through the Payapa Road.
