Young Girl from Lipa, Batangas with Scars from Japanese Atrocities
Date Taken: 20 October 1945
Crazed by their lust for blood, the Japanese were indiscriminate in who they killed and spared not even women and children. The girl show in the photo was one of the lucky ones. Other survivors told stories of young children being tossed high up in the air and caught on their way down on the tip of a bayonet.
Original Caption: Lapaz Dimaano exhibits scars on her right bicep, which were caused by Japanese atrocities during the war in Lipa, Batangas, Luzon, P.I. (for Philippine Islands).
